The Delta tops our Top 10 Best Whistler Hotels list for a few good reasons. Location, value, design and super-modern rooms are outstanding. A recent renovation of all Delta hotels across Canada was preceded by a survey of what people want in a hotel room. The result was a remarkably modern and functional design that can be seen in the Whistler Delta.
The furnishings are modern and you can immediately see that every detail has be laboriously thought out. The SmartDesk™ that you will find in every Delta room is so well designed that Delta had to copyright it. The SmartDesk™ has a panel for docking mobile devices, connecting laptops and a variety of other connectivity options to the huge, flat-panel TV located just above. Gone are the days where you have to search for plugins for all your gadgets or look behind the TV to figure out how to connect it to your laptop.
Along with the beautiful layout and functionality of the rooms at Delta you will also find the walls adorned with amazing print-to-canvas images of some of Whistler's most beautiful places. Hanging above your bed you may have Wedgemount Lake and distant Wedgemount glacier or surreal Black Tusk towering among the surrounding mountains. The Delta admirably sourced all the artwork for the new rooms locally ensuring that they portray the authentic beauty of Whistler instead of mass produced, generic images.
Another reason that Delta sits at the top of our Top 10 Whistler Hotels list is the excellent location, right dead centre of Whistler Village. Although most Whistler hotels are well located in Whistler Village, the Delta is about as central as you can get. Aside from the obvious convenience of being close to everything, the location also somehow allows almost every room in the hotel to have a beautiful view. Most Whistler hotels have a good side with views and a bad side with no views. The Delta manages a view no matter where you sleep.
The pool area at the Delta is large and well designed. One large, indoor hot tub separated by just a couple metres to the huge pool. The pool begins indoor, then extends outside into the beautiful outdoor patio complete with yet another two hot tubs. The pool area is surrounded on three sides by trees which give you a strangely peaceful feeling despite being in the centre of Whistler Village. The is irregularly shaped and the three hot tubs spaced far apart allowing for numerous guests to use the facilities without bothering each other.
The exceptionally nice rooms and excellent amenities at the Delta combine with a relatively low price make the Delta possibly the best value for money in Whistler. Very modern and well designed rooms with great views, excellent location and lots of amenities give the Delta, in our opinion, a cut above the rest in Whistler. The Delta is number 1 on our Top 10 Best Whistler Hotels list, for more information and to make reservations click here.
The Westin Resort & Spa is number 2 on our Top 10 Best Whistler Hotels list for a bunch of reasons. The amenities are incredible. The pool area, the gym, lobby, courtyard shops and restaurants are all absolutely wonderful. As one of the newest hotels in Whistler, The Westin is beautifully modern. The rooms are nice and new and most have terrific views. The rooms are a bit small as compared to other Whistler hotels, however this is often the case in luxury hotels.
Built in 2000, this massive hotel at the base of Whistler Mountain seems to constantly receive accolades for both their rooms as well as their restaurant/lounges. The Grill & Vine is a "modern reinterpretation of the classic bar & grill". The FireRock Lounge is a cool and upscale lounge that somehow manages to be relaxing and happening at the same time. Hotels these days frequently and dishonestly add "resort" to their name, with the Westin Resort & Spa, that addition is entirely accurate. You could quite literally spend days in Whistler and not leave the Westin. Beautiful rooms, amazing views, a variety of excellent eateries, a wonderful spa, pool and huge fitness facility. Added to that, you have the lower level shopping area that opens up to the Village Stroll right where you want to be in Whistler.
Why stay at the Westin? Very upscale, modern, luxurious hotel. Beautiful pool and the best gym facility in Whistler. Arguably the best location in Whistler adjacent to the Whistler Gondola and both the Village Stroll and the base of Whistler Mountain. The reasonably priced, four star accommodation give you access to the wonderful facilities as well as give to a spectacular base to explore Whistler. The Westin enhances Whistler in a way that only a couple other hotels in Whistler have. It creates a world within a world in Whistler. Even if you are not staying at the Westin, you should walk through the grand front entrance and stop for a drink at one of the luxurious, yet reasonably priced restaurants/lounges.
The Westin is located next to the Whistler Gondola in Whistler Village, making the location hard to beat. There is a beautiful shopping area on the ground floor which exits to Whistler Village. The Westin has 410 rooms that range from studios, one and two bedroom suites, to a massive 1500 square foot Penthouse Mountain Suite. The Westin is number 2 on our Top 10 Best Whistler Hotels list, for more information and to make reservations click here.
The Summit Lodge Boutique Hotel is number 3 on our Top 10 Best Whistler Hotels list because it is truly a hotel with a passion for Whistler. They go the extra mile with everything and are one step ahead of the competition in so many respects. One example of this is how they market to guests with pets. Lots of hotels allow pets, but at the Summit they treat them "like VIP guests". They stay for free, and the room is prepared with the appropriate pet supplies such as food bowl, treats, bed and even toys. Most hotels these days have free internet, but the Summit goes one step further by having an ipad to use in every room. Other little things make a huge difference at the Summit. Free coffee and snacks in the lobby and free bike rentals are available in the non-winter months.
The Summit Lodge & Spa is possibly the best hotel in Whistler for personalized service. They are always up to something, whether it being "Stay With Us" vacation packages or contests or simply their constantly updated and excellent website. They truly have a passion for Whistler and it shows in everything they do. Free bike rentals, free ipod mini in every room, scooter rentals out front and have one of the coolest restaurants in Whistler.
Elements Urban Tapas Parlour is located off the Summit lobby and though well hidden is fantastically popular and constantly raved about. Everything about it is modern, cool, beautiful, trendy and somehow both upscale and casual at the same time. All the while delivering amazing food with amazing surroundings. Some people in Whistler go out to eat for the atmosphere and some for the food. At Elements you get incredible food and a beautiful place to savour it.
All these go-the-extra-mile qualities along with beautiful rooms and an excellent location in Whistler Village, make the Summit Lodge is number 3 on our Top 10 Best Whistler Hotels list. For more information and to make reservations at the Summit Lodge click here.
The Pan Pacific Mountainside is number 4 on our Top 10 Best Whistler Hotels list for plenty of reasons. There are in fact two Pan Pacific's in Whistler, the original Pan Pacific Whistler Mountainside and the newer Pan Pacific Whistler Village Centre. Both Pan Pacific's are well located in Whistler Village not far from each other. The Mountainside is just across from the base of Whistler Mountain and you can very nearly ski directly into the lobby in the winter. The Village Center Pan is just a couple buildings further away but similarly very close to the centre of all the action in Whistler.
In terms of location, you would have difficulty beating the Pan Pacific in Whistler with its Whistler Mountain and Whistler Village views. When Whistler hosts festivals like the Whistler Ski and Snowboard Festival and Crankworx, most of their rooms have a front row seat. Not only do the rooms have excellent views, but their pool and hot tub area sits high above the Village and looks down on all the action. There is definitely something magical about looking down on the base of Whistler Mountain from a hot tub several floors up.
The Pan Pacific Mountainside is home to one of Whistler's best pubs, the Dubh Linn Gate Irish Pub. One of Whistler's favourite pubs is just steps from the base of the mountain and is known for their excellent food as well as live music every night. The Dubh Linn Gate is also a great place to have breakfast. Open at 7am in the winter months and 8am in the summer, it is an unexpectedly great place to start your day in Whistler!
Why stay at the Pan? It is very luxurious and the facilities and staff are amazing. The pool area, high above Whistler Village is hard to beat. The location is pretty amazing as well. Walking out of the hotel and immediately seeing gondolas and chairlifts is something special. Similar to the Westin, the Pan is a beautiful, four star, luxury hotel that you may find expensive.. but just like the Westin, is well worth it. The Pan Pacific Mountainside is number 4 on our Top 10 Best Whistler Hotels list. For more information and to make reservations click here.
The Crystal Lodge & Suites is number 5 on our Top 10 Best Whistler Hotels list because of its luxurious feel and very central location for a reasonable price. The rooms are modern and well designed with patios overlooking Whistler's beautiful Village Stroll. You are right in the middle of all the action in Whistler, though surprisingly you don't get the noise from late night partiers, that sometimes plague other hotels above the Village Stroll.
As the Crystal is so centrally located you don't really need on-site eateries, as the Village is right below you. The Crystal Lodge does have two excellent and popular dining choices within it. Basalt Wine and Salumeria is the cool and trendy new restaurant that replaced Rics Grill recently. They have redesigned the patio into a beautifully relaxing place to eat along the Village Stroll. Just off the lobby in the Crystal Lodge is one of Whistler's favourite breakfast restaurants, the Wildwood Pacific Bistro. Recently moved into this location, the Wildwood is open here for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Why should you stay at the Crystal Lodge & Suites? Great location, great service and quality rooms for a good price. If you want to stand on your sundeck in the middle of Whistler Village, this is the place to do it. The Crystal Lodge & Suites is number 5 on our Top 10 Best Whistler Hotels list. A rooftop hot tub for all guests, a great variety of room styles and sizes, all with great views of Whistler Village and the mountains. The Sundial has 49 spacious one and two bedroom suites. Eight of these have their own, private sundeck hot tubs!
The Sundial's location is almost as good as it gets in Whistler. Located next to the Pan Pacific Mountainside, you are just steps from the base of Whistler Mountain. The Sundial is connected to two of Whistler's favourite restaurants. Sushi Village has been a local favourite here for almost 30 years and for good reason. The food is amazing and the restaurant is fun and friendly.
Next to Sushi Village is a newer addition to Whistler that has quickly become one of the busiest and best restaurants in town. The Mexican Corner is a true taste of Mexican cuisine. As you step in the door you enter a world of lively colours, Mexican paintings, artwork and furnishings. Everything about the place brings a smile to your face. The Mexican Corner is so popular that you often have trouble getting in during Whistler's slow season!

Every area in the hotel seems to be perfectly designed to impress.
The rooms are similarly well designed to wow, with unexpectedly original furnishings at every turn. You will find yourself surprised at every little detail in your room.
